Additionally, if the LED lights are blinking on an alarm that is wired into your RV, your RV battery may be run down. Charge your unit if this occurs.

What are the CO alarm testing procedures?
- Check the date code on the alarm. Replace if the date has expired.
- If the device is battery-operated, replace the batteries.
- Power up alarm. The alarm may flash green for up to 10 minutes after powering up.
- Test the electronics of the device. A steady GREEN light indicates device electronics are normal. The TEST button tests all ELECTRICAL functions of the alarm. It does not check the sensor operation. The TEST button is located on the front of the alarm. Press and hold the TEST button for 1 second. The alarm is working properly if the GREEN indicator light changes color to RED and the horn beeps 4 times. IMPORTANT – If this alarm does not test properly return it immediately for repair or replacement.
- Test CO sensor. Use a can of SAFE-T-ALERT CO test gas to test the 400 PPM calibration point using the test chamber included with the can. DO NOT TRY TO GENERATE CO TO TEST THE ALARM.

What are the Propane Gas alarm testing procedures?
- Check the date code on the alarm. Replace if the date has expired.
- If the device is battery-operated, replace the batteries.

What are the Dual CO / Propane Gas alarm testing procedures?

The TEST button is located on the front of the alarm. Press and hold the test button for 1 second. The alarm is working correctly if the GREEN indicator light changes color to RED and the horn beeps 4 times. The Gas LED should also blink RED. IMPORTANT – If this alarm does not test properly return it immediately for repair or replacement.

How often should safety alarms be replaced on a RV?
Replace your Propane and CO Alarms that are over 5 years old. Only install Propane and CO alarms that are UL listed for Recreational Vehicle Use. Some CO alarms or their replaceable CO sensors may have a shorter service life. Check the manufacturer’s owner’s manual for replacement information. Replace your Smoke & Fire Alarms that are over 10 years old.
